The only way you can beat my crazy was by doing something crazy yourself. Thank you. I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I’m sorry it took so long for me to catch up. I just got stuck.

We are so accustomed to believe that crime and violence are characteristic of male characters only that the idea of seeing the ultimate devil personified in a woman, and a mother, quite amused me during the writing process. For the part of Julian’s mother I always had Kristin in mind. I met her in Paris and started thinking about how interesting it would be to make her character a strange mix between Lady Macbeth and Donatella Versace. And of course, Kristin was incredibly happy to play the character of a badass, authoritarian and diabolic mother. - Nicolas Winding Refn

Why is calling the place where I put in a job application a few weeks ago, like, the MOST STRESSFUL THING EVER? It’s literally heart-pounding, breathing fast, need-to-write-down-what-I’m-going-to-say-so-I-don’t-screw-it-up kind of stressful.
It’s a fucking phone call, there is no reason for me to be this nervous and scared of a phone call.
Why is basic stuff like this so goddamn hard for me? Why can’t I just be normal? UGH.

“Men aren’t asked about age. Men aren’t asked about their children. Not that these things aren’t important, but I do feel like it becomes reductive when a woman’s life becomes, ‘Talk to me about your kids and how you feel about plastic surgery.’”
—Julianne Moore, by Will Davidson for DuJour Magazine, June 2013.
